Orthodontics in Jeddah

A straighter smile with metal and clear options, and a clear timeline from the very first visit.

What it is

What is orthodontic treatment?

How many times have you smiled and covered your mouth because your teeth are crooked, crowded or protruding? That feeling has a real solution, and it no longer takes years of discomfort. Orthodontics has moved on a long way, and there is now more than one option to suit your age, your life and what you want — whether you are a student, working full time, or a parent looking for the best orthodontic care for your child in Jeddah.

Orthodontics is a specialist treatment that corrects the position of your teeth and the way they bite together, by applying light, continuous pressure that moves the teeth into the right place. The purpose is both cosmetic and medical. Crooked or crowded teeth do not only affect how you look: they are harder to clean, and over time they put extra strain on the jaw and its joints, which can turn into chronic pain.

The options available at Pearl Beads

Fixed metal braces — metal brackets bonded to the teeth and connected by fine wires. The most effective option for every case, including complex ones.

Clear aligners (Invisalign) — custom transparent trays you remove to eat and clean. Barely visible on the teeth, and the option most adults prefer.

Ceramic braces — brackets in a shade close to your natural teeth. You get the effectiveness of fixed braces with a more discreet look.

Retainers — once treatment is complete, a retainer holds the result and stops the teeth drifting back. It is an essential step, not an optional one.

In our patients’ words

Questions our patients ask every day

These are real questions our patients ask — and our answers.

“How much do braces cost?”

The cost depends on the type of treatment and how complex the case is. At Pearl Beads you get a full initial examination that sets out the right plan and the complete cost with total transparency — no surprises.

“How long does treatment take?”

Usually between 12 and 36 months depending on the case. Some straightforward cases treated with clear aligners finish in under a year. Dr. Osama Alnahari will give you an accurate estimate after the first examination.

“I’m older — will braces still work for me?”

Orthodontics works at any age; your teeth will move as long as the jawbone is healthy. You may feel light pressure after each adjustment visit, but it settles within two or three days and is completely normal.

“Do clear aligners give the same result as metal braces?”

In suitable cases, yes — the results are very close. In complex cases fixed braces remain the more precise option. Your dentist decides what fits your case after the examination and imaging.

“Will my teeth move back once treatment ends?”

Without a retainer, teeth can partly drift back towards their old position. That is why we always finish treatment with a retention phase — it is what protects your result long term.

“Can I eat normally with braces?”

With fixed braces you need to avoid some hard and chewy foods. With clear aligners you take them out to eat and put them back afterwards, so there are no restrictions on your food.

Guidance

Before and after your braces

Save this page — you will want it on the day.

Before your appointment

  • Brush and floss thoroughly before coming in
  • Avoid a heavy meal in the two hours before your appointment
  • Bring any previous dental X-rays or reports
  • Prepare your questions in advance so you get the most from your time with the dentist
  • Tell the dentist about any medication you take regularly

After your braces are fitted

The first few days

  • Expect some pressure and mild discomfort — it is normal and means the treatment is working
  • Take a mild painkiller if you need one
  • Use orthodontic wax on any bracket that rubs your cheek or lip until your mouth adapts

Daily life with braces

Avoid hard foods such as nuts and chewy foods such as gum — they damage the brackets and lengthen your treatment. Use an orthodontic brush and floss after every meal to protect against decay. And do not miss your adjustment appointments: every visit you skip extends the treatment and delays your result.

One tip: photograph your smile every month and compare. Nothing keeps people going quite like seeing the change.

In short
